Downloading and Installing Doceri Desktop for WindowsIMPORTANT: Before starting to download and install Doceri Desktop, first make sure that Java on your machine is fully up to date. To do this, navigate to http://java.com and click on the Free Java Update button. Once the Java update is finished, follow the steps below to download Doceri Desktop, install the application, and set your preferences. More information on how to use Doceri can be found in our Help Documents and User Guides. ![]() First, go to the Download page. Enter your e-mail address and select Download for your appropriate Operating System (Windows or Mac). ![]() A pop-up window will appear asking you to open the Doceri Desktop zip file. Select “Save File” and click “OK”. Make sure to note where on your computer your downloaded files are saved. Note: You will need to have administrator rights on your Windows machine to install this application. ![]() Locate the zipped folder and extract all files. The folder contains one file - Doceri Desktop.exe. Double-click on Doceri Desktop.exe to run the file. ![]() Note: If a security warning pops up, select “Run” to proceed. Click through the installation options and click "Finished" when done. Note: We recommend you check the boxes to Allow a Windows Firewall penetration for Doceri and to check the box to launch Doceri once the installation is complete. ![]() Doceri Desktop will begin to launch on your computer. ![]() The first time you run Doceri on your computer, you will be asked to read accept the Doceri Software License Agreement. ![]() A window will appear prompting you to set a password for connecting Doceri Remote on the iPad to Doceri Desktop on your computer. Make a note of your username in this window and the password in order to make the connection between Doceri Remote and Doceri Desktop. Note: The "username" is your user name on your computer. It does not have any relation to the username and password you created at www.doceri.com. ![]() After setting your password, a Doceri hand icon will drop down to the lower right corner of your task bar. Certain Windows operating systems may place it in a "hidden icons" folder. If the Doceri hand is not visible on your task bar, open the “show hidden icons” folder (small arrow on your task bar) and it should be in there. If you prefer to have the Doceri hand visible on your task bar, simply drag it from the hidden icons folder onto your task bar.
